Can you trade Forex part-time?

This question is similar to asking, “Can I be a part-time doctor?”
Definitely not.

The reason is that a doctor must study every day to gain the newest knowledge.
Likewise, a Forex trader must study and practice every day in addition to trading.

A Forex trader must keep daily and weekly journal analyses to understand how their performance worked and how to act in the future.

Some gurus say that you can follow their signals or learn their lessons and trade only one hour per day to make profits. Part of that statement is true. You must have the discipline to trade only specific parts of the chart and control your screen time.

However, by just learning a lesson or following others’ signals, you cannot be profitable in the long term.

Professional traders analyze their performance, strategies, and emotions every day—or at least every week—so they can adjust to new market conditions.

If you want to become a professional trader someday, or if you are deciding to become a trader today, always remember: discipline is what makes you profitable in the long term, nothing else.

Discipline exists in multiple layers depending on the trader’s current stage, and it is different for everyone.

You have to build a daily routine and create your own discipline map to become a professional one day.
